How to create SKU codes for your Nadra products

A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique code you assign to each product in your store. It helps you track your inventory, identify products quickly, and manage your business as you grow. On Nadra, every seller uses the same naming convention so that no two products across the marketplace ever share a code.

The Nadra SKU format

Your SKU is made up of segments separated by hyphens. Each segment tells you something specific about the product.

NDR – SST – BGL – GLD – 01

NDR

Platform prefix

SST

Your store abbreviation

BGL

Product name

GLD

Variant (optional)

01

Item number

This SKU belongs to a gold bangle sold by a store with the abbreviation SST on the Nadra marketplace.

NDR — always the same

Store abbreviation — unique to you

Product name — what you are selling

Variant — color, size, material (optional)

Item number — sequential count

How to create your store abbreviation

Your store abbreviation is 2 to 4 letters taken from your store name. It sits right after NDR and makes every SKU you create unique to your store. No two sellers on Nadra will have the same abbreviation.

Store name Abbreviation Example SKU

Samira Store SST NDR-SST-BGL-01

Amira Modest Wear AMW NDR-AMW-ABY-BLK-01

Halal Skincare Co HSC NDR-HSC-SERUM-01

Nour Books NBK NDR-NBK-EBOOK-01

Examples across product types

Jewellery and accessories

NDR-SST-BGL-GLD-01

Gold bangle, first item in inventory. If you also sell a silver version, that becomes NDR-SST-BGL-SLV-01.

Modest wear

NDR-AMW-ABY-BLK-SML-01

Black abaya in size small. You can stack two variant descriptors (color + size) when needed.

NDR-AMW-HJB-NVY-01

Navy hijab with no size variant — just color is enough here.

Skincare and beauty

NDR-HSC-SERUM-01

A single serum with no variants — the optional variant segment is left out entirely.

Digital products

NDR-NBK-EBOOK-01

Digital products use SKUs too. As you add more ebooks, simply increment: NDR-NBK-EBOOK-02, NDR-NBK-EBOOK-03.

Quick reference

Segment Required? Format Notes

NDR Yes Always NDR Nadra platform prefix, never changes

Store Yes 2–4 letters Abbreviation of your store name

Product Yes 2–6 letters Short name for the product

Variant No 2–4 letters Color, size, or material — skip if not needed

Number Yes 01, 02, 03 Always use two digits

The variant segment is optional. If your product comes in one version only, your SKU can be as short as NDR-SST-SERUM-01 and that is perfectly correct.

A note on consistency: Once you assign a SKU to a product, do not change it. Your SKU is how your dashboard tracks that product over time. If you want to add a new variant, create a new SKU — do not edit the existing one.

How to add your SKU in your Nadra dashboard

Once you have created your SKU using the format above, adding it to your product takes less than a minute. Here is exactly where to find it.

  • 1
  • Go to your vendor dashboard
  • Log in to your Nadra account and navigate to your dashboard.
  • 2
  • Click on Products
  • From the dashboard menu, select Products. You can either click Add product to create a new listing, or click Edit on an existing product to update it.
  • 3
  • Fill in your product details
  • Add your product name, description, price, and images as usual. Then scroll down the page.
  • 4
  • Find the Inventory section
  • As you scroll down, you will see an Inventory section. Beneath it is the SKU field.
  • 5
  • Paste or type your SKU
  • Enter the SKU you created using the Nadra format — for example, NDR-SST-BGL-GLD-01. Make sure there are no spaces.
  • 6
  • Save your product
  • Scroll to the top of the page and hit Update Product. Your SKU is now attached to that product and will appear in your inventory records.
  • No SKU field visible? Make sure you have scrolled all the way down past the product description and pricing sections. The inventory fields including SKU sit below those.
